Apostle Mario Villela
A Lipan Apache, was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, as a Mexican American. His grandfather, Pete Castro, use to teach him of his Apache’ heritage. After the death of his grandfather, Mario was pressured by other family members to downplay and deny his God-given birth rite. Following 40 years of racism and rejection by Caucasians, Mexicans, African Americans and other Native Americans, God brought Mario full circle to his roots. Today he is proud to declare his Lipan Apache heritage where he is known as Wakiyan Wakan,
Holy Thunder.
In 1986, Mario and his wife, Regina, were born again at the First Baptist Church in Canyon Lake, Texas. On December 7, 1986, God delivered Mario from a life ravaged by the demons of rejection and addiction. He has faithfully served SOS as President and Founder since 1989.
During his many years of leadership, he has developed one of the most successful recovery ministries in the nation. Recovery participants have come from all over America, as well as 13 countries in the world, and has a 57% success rate based upon Program Completion, 2-year sobriety, employment, and serving the community.
Through the mentoring/discipleship Program of SOS Recovery Ministry, a church was formed in 2001 under the leadership of Mr. Villela with graduates of the recovery program. These graduates now serve SOS as Elders, Deacons and Board of Trustees.
Pastor Regina Villela
After years of chasing acceptance and approval through turbulent relationships, professional competitive careers and a social life that ended in full blown addiction to drugs and alcohol...Regina encountered a head-on collision with
"The Transformer"...
Jesus Christ!!!
In December of 1986, Pastor, Dr. Regina Villela, along with her husband Apostle Mario Villela, was born again at the First Baptist Church in Canyon Lake, Texas. It was here that she surrendered her life to Jesus, as her "greater power", acknowledging to God that her life had become unmanageable and completely out of control. This began the journey into the divine destiny of Servants of the Streets Ministries...more affectionately known as the "SOS HOME."
In 1989, Dr. Regina and husband, Apostle Mario founded Servants of the Streets Ministries on the deep west side of San Antonio, Texas. The ministry was relocated to Elkhart, Indiana, in 1995. Since the inception...the recovery message has been clear:
Confront the Temptation,
Prepare for the Struggle,
Face the Adversity,
&
Slay the Giant of Addiction!
Dr. Regina has labored to inspire addictive audiences nationally and internationally through preaching the Gospel and public speaking...challenging them to Live a Better Life, Strive For Success, and to Overcome Hardships With Perseverance and Strength.
